Expanding perspectives, honoring heritage

This Belltown office building is a local icon of mid-century modern architecture that is owned by an actively expanding TV news station. We were tasked with the relocation and expansion of the control and viewing rooms, together with technological upgrades. Respecting the noteworthy architectural heritage of the building, we inserted a quiet, contemporary interior space. Glass walls allow the space to expand into the viewing room and look into the planned newsroom. Surface detailing and lighting concepts are directed at minimizing boundary while facilitating a quiet yet dynamic work environment.
